剑桥少儿英语考试的起点，是英国剑桥大学考试委员会，1996年夏天引进到中国，到2014年夏天正好已18年；《剑桥少儿英语》的第一版教材，是我国教育部考试中心中英中心推出的，于2000年与广大儿童少年见面，到今年已是第14个年头。教材覆盖了剑桥少儿英语考试的考纲，当年堪称为各国教材中的佼佼者。

2009年《剑桥国际少儿英语》推出，是剑桥少儿英语教材又一节点，它是剑桥大学出版社出版的，由英国英语教学专家卡罗琳·尼克松（英）和迈克尔·汤姆林森（英）合作编写。剑桥少儿英语收集了最全的剑桥少儿英语系列资源分享给小朋友们，也是一个能让宝宝很快接触学习英语的好机会，是小朋友们学习英语的好帮手。2013年7月《巨人外思少儿英语》问世，是剑桥少儿英语老教材的换代更新，作者仍然是这两位有着20年经验的英国专家。
